Songwriters are at home in Nashville, as this is where Country music meets the guy and his guitar looking to get a song on the radio. Like the gold rush in California, there is the promise of gold in the form of having a number #1 hit. In June of 2014 I was determined to see for myself how Nashville was doing such a great job of creating music, artists and lifelong careers. Music City became my destiny and obsession, followed by the question “should I move here?” Prior to my week long trip I bundled up my then recent songs, and headed to Tennessee, and planned to go big by recording 3 songs at 2 different studios in 4 days. One of the songs "She's My Speed" was written the week before my trip! My prior experience had been recording with my bandmates on two previous full length records, so it was a little bit unusual to be working with a whole new set of musicians and recording the tracks in such a small window of time. Knowing this, I prepared a pre-production demo of each song to ferret out any arrangement issues in advance. In the end, I believe this was key to getting what I wanted out of the highly skilled musicians in the studio. The studios involved were owned and ran by Larry Beaird and Jason Garner. Both studios operated at the highest level of competency and each offered a unique style and sound. All the musicians I encountered were a pleasure to work with. Track 1, "She's My Speed" was recorded at Larry Beaird's. This song was pitched and selected by Dan Hodges Publishing to be pitched to Film and TV. Track 2 "Good Time Girl" was recorded at Jason Garner's. This song was placed on a compilation published by record label “Made for This” – Sacramento, Track 3 "Farewell My Love" was recorded at Larry Beaird's. The “Nashville Tracks” have all been well received by industry and my fans, and were a big part of my personal growth as an artist. I look forward to making it back to "Music City" with more songs in my back pocket. For with me the dream will never die as long as I hear music in my head. Until then this EP is my proof that Nashville can change lives, as it has done to me. Most importantly, thank you to Nashville and all of it's good people that have made a living out of making music for people to have and hear.
