As these sonatas have repeatedly been transcribed for other instruments (in-cluding by Bach himself), James Tibbles presents two of Bach’s keyboard tran-scriptions of his own solo violin works BWV 1003 and 1005, thus making this recording a concert programme rather than yet another encyclopaedic version of a Bach work cycle.
