Since the inception of the group they have set out to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ, communicating the message of the Kingdom in their uncompromised lyrics, sound and style. Daro and Nosa Umaigba (who are siblings) met with Patrick Edwards in 1995 at a teenage group called Agape Force in Benin City, Nigeria, where they got together later in 1996 to form the group, BNG. The group later relocated to Lagos, Nigeria. Patrick who is an award winning music producer and multi-instrumentalist was responsible for the production the group’s music production. Patrick is no longer currently active in the group but continues to play and advisory role. Early in their music career they were featured in a musical tour tagged Music and Miracles, sharing the stage with international recording artiste Marvin Winans. Their first album ‘Na God,' released in 2000, was a massive success and prominently featured Mike Aremu. One of their notable singles “No 4get” got a nomination at Nigerian music video awards in 2007 for most popular video aired on TV. It was also consistently #1 for 3 weeks on the MTN Sound-city music top ten count down and it stayed on the top ten for a total of 10 weeks. In 2009, BNG released their second album titled ‘Carry Weight’. The album was produced by Patrick Edwards, Efe Ubefe for DH Music UK, and John Arheghan for Dscroll Music, Nashville, Tennessee USA. “Carry Weight” features prominent gospel group Midnight Crew. BNG has toured around Nigeria, the US and the UK, hosted by various ministries and university campuses. They were also invited to the United Kingdom to perform at The Festival of Life Convention (NXGen) and performed brilliantly with amazing reviews. They also captivated crowds at Nashville's 35th Annual African Street Festival and Muletown Music Festival in 2017. BNG has consistently been nominated in the SSMA from 2010-2013 with a total of 9 nominations and has won 4 awards in total. The group has also received nominations in the AGMA held in the UK. BNG also got four nominations and won two awards in the 2013 NGMVA. In 2016 BNG was nominated for the international KORA award. They were nominated for their song titled “Many Things”. The KORA Awards has previously featured the likes of Michael Jackson, Wyclef Jean and a host of dignitaries like Nelson Mandela. The members of BNG are all graduates in various disciplines, Daro has a Diploma in Computer Science and a degree in Business Administration and Nosa has a degree in Fine and Applied Arts. Both Daro and Nosa are very passionate about art and besides doing music professionally Daro is an international award winning Filmmaker, Photographer and Graphic Designer. Nosa is also a published Fine Artist, Filmmaker and Music Producer. Daro and Nosa are married to lovely wives and have both been blessed with lovely children. BNG is always working on new music.
