The band used Bruce Springsteen and Grateful Dead influences to their advantage as they constructed their debut album. On track 1 "Time For The Local Boys", listeners get a vibe from the 60's with the grooving "raindrop leads" by Charles Murray and a soft organ by Dylan Shea. On track 2 "To Get to you", the band takes a different approach into the funk world as Owen Lyons lays down a neck breaking bass groove. On track 3 "No Longer Stay", Dylan Shea and Owen Lyon's vocals go hand in hand with the sublime-esque guitar progression. On track 4, "Waiting For Something", the song is carried by Griffin Hill's Keith Moon like drum fills and Dylan Shea's emotional story. In the last minute of the song, the band picks up the playing when Chuck Murray plays a "Jerry Garcia like" lead and Dylan Shea uses his U2 influences for the guitar lead he puts over the track. The Local Boys are unique in a sense that every song on their album is different.
