Yoron Israel, Drummer, Percussionist, Bandleader, Educator, Composer: Yoron Israel’s, a native Chicagoan, is one of the most sought out drummers on the music scene. His varied credentials and illustrious career includes 4 recording as a leader and over 100 recordings as an accompanist. His recording as a solo artists include, “Chicago” (Double-Time), “Live at The Blue Note” (Half Note) and recent recordings on his label Ronja Music are “A Gift for You”, a newly released re-issue and “Basic Traneing”, which reached number three on the National Jazz Charts in 2004. He has performed worldwide and recorded with such renown artists as David “Fathead” Newman, Sonny Rollins, Ahmad Jamal, Art Farmer, Abbey Lincoln, Art Farmer, Horace Silver, Kenny Burrell, James Williams, Joe Lovano, Tom Harrell, Roy Hargrove, Vanessa Rubin and Cyrus Chestnut among numerous others. When not leading his own ensembles “Organic”, “Connection” and “High Standands”, Yoron performs regularly with David “Fathead” Newman, Jay Hoggard, Frank Morgan as well as with numerous premiere Boston based artists.
