简介
Will Lawton is a singer/songwriter who has been performing since 1999. Will has been blessed to play throughout South Carolina from the mountains of Clemson to the peninsula of Charleston. Through the years, Will has played in an acoustic rock duo (The Will and Brad Show), a funk rock band (Lost On Tuesday), as a solo artist, and now he joins Stacy Sergent to hike the mountains of bluegrass music. Will’s love of bluegrass music has grown over the years and had turned into an obsession. After attending Kamp Kaufman flatpicking guitar camp with his dad, Doc Lawton, every song will hears is a potential bluegrass song. While Will’s primary instrument is the guitar, he enjoys playing the ukulele, bass, harmonica, and mandolin. Rather than the banjo, Will elected to learn to read. (The previous sentence serves as the required banjo joke all bluegrass musicians must tell when speaking of and/or playing bluegrass music. Failure to tell a banjo joke results in folk music or perhaps Americana which everyone knows is the hipster way of describing folk music.) Stacy Sergent grew up in the quiet holler of Harlan, Kentucky. You may have heard of Harlan from the hit TV series, “Justified” starring Timothy Olyphant. Harlan is also made famous by such bluegrass songs as “Nine Pound Hammer” and “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive.” Stacy grew up singing in choir and has continued to bless her church with her beautiful high soprano voice. After some not so subtle manipulation, pleading, begging, and a maybe a beer or two, Will convinced Stacy to join him on stage for an open mic night, then a for part of show, and now the two have formed Rogue Two.
