简介
Ezekiel Butler came about in 2006 when Pete Sen, musical director of Giffords Circus and graduate of the London College of Music decided to form a band to perform his music. A trip to the local shops in Gnosall took him through a churchyard where he saw two gravestones both belonging to Ezekiel Butler. Confused, Pete took this as an omen and that became the name of his band. The line up of the band has changed but Pete has been consistent in his quest to record his music. He eventually met producer John Perkins at a London gig and accepted an offer which brought him into IMMG studios to record an album. 'Chelsea Calling' which he wrote after staying in the bohemian 'Chelsea Hotel' in New York heads up the album in great style, having already been an internet as a download single and a fan club CD single also sold out regularly at gigs.. Other songs from that single also appear on the album. 'Cat 76' written about internet dating, and 'Lily', a song which showcases Pete's rock credentials. REVIEWS: Ezekiel Butler have a depth to them that just can’t be found in any other band I’ve heard lately” Iain Lee, Presenter for Absolute Radio, Formerly Virgin Radio "for all the sunny sounding harmonies, there lies just a little bit of darkness that gives the band an exra edge" - Stephen Morris, BBC Introducing “Heart-warming, calm and melodic, Ezekiel Butler are one of the freshest things to come around, mixing elements of soul and bluesy riffs into something special.” Spoonfed, London Entertainment Guide Throughout Ezekiel Butler's output there are dual messages at work: things may be terrible at the moment, but there may just be some ray of light around the corner. Perhaps all is not lost after all.” -BBC ‘Introducing’
