简介

Jazzy Merry Christmas! This album is a world-class expression of the fun and love of the Season, featuring some of the seasons most loved standards with new and exciting twists. Featured musicians are Norman Simmons, Donald Vega, Curtis Lundy, Alvester Garnett, and Jason Curry. Of special note is the title song "Sleigh Ride" which has been arranged by Frankie. This rendition is so full of fun and life that you actually experience the high and fun of the ride. 'My Favorite Things' and 'Christmas Time is Here' are done with romantic sparkle. "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming" is a spiritual treat done as a vocal trio with special guests Carla Cook and Charenee Wade. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bio - Nationally and internationally known as Karen Francis, she now emerges as "Frankie Lynne" her shiny new moniker and sparkling new music to go along with it. "Frankie"- a phenomenal jazz singer - is a native of Augusta Georgia who is now based in the New Jersey/New York area after having gotten her professional start on the Washington, DC jazz scene. Coming from a family of singers and musicians, Frankie's love affair with jazz began while participating in a vocal competition at Jazz Festival in Washington D.C. in the early 90’s. She soon became an integral part of D.C.’s jazz scene but like many jazz artists seeking mecca, she moved to New York and has since performed at top New York area jazz venues and international clubs. Since arriving in New York, Frankie has performed and recorded with some of the world's most prolific and established artists, among them Christian McBride, Norman Simmons, Curtis Lundy, Cecil Bridgewater, Stanley Cowell, and many others. Many will know her from her previous solo projects as Karen Francis: “Where is Love?” and “Little Sunflower” (Steeple Chase Records) and “Better Days” (Virgo Rising Records). And others will also recognize her as the voice on Stanley Cowell's CD titled, "Mandara Blossoms". "Frankie" an emergence based on a personal decision to take steps on a road to a new beginning as she moves into new creative directions that include expanded creative visions. Frankie has been very favorably compared to several of the worlds greatest jazz singers but her own style, direction, and personality in her music are as crystal clear as the sound of her voice. She is mentioned in among the worlds greatest singers as one to watch in the Book "Singing Jazz: The Singers and Their Styles" by Bruce Crowther/Mike Pinfold.
