The second release of Passengers brings together another slew of talented artists putting together a row of no filler, all killer pieces. Horatio’s Black Hole kicks in on the A side, with a mesmerising composition made of contorted synths. An overall looming mood sets in, sustained by punchy drums and a compelling bassline. Sangerhausen based Jens Lewandoski chimes in with Cobble, an electrifying slice of groovy, deep space techno. A wavy, modulated synth dictates a striking melody, while zippy synth pads add more depth to an already cavernous setting. Also delving into deep territory is Joonas L’s One Stone, an atmospherical tech exploration accented with metallic synths and a light and airy keyboard motif. Frenchman Markus Volker takes us on a heavy tech journey on Monomental, a power piece with plenty of stilted rhythms and flickering glitchy elements made for peak time. Berliner Zusan showcases a penchant for brooding atmospheres on Infinite Regress, a spellbinding track with plenty of rhythm and groove. All in all, a pack of carefully crafted weapons touching all corners of the Techno spectrum, suited for any dancefloor.
