简介

Helmut Kagerer (g) Andreas Dombert (g) Recorded and mixed by Andreas Dombert at the Anton-Bruckner-Gymnasium and at the "Bandhaus", Straubing, December 2005 Jazz doesn´t know any generations barriers. That is impressively proved by the duo "The Night Of Jazz Guitars" founded five years ago by Helmut Kagerer and Andreas Dombert. Kagerer is teaching jazz guitar at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg-Augsburg, won several awards (a. o. the Bayerischer Staatsförderpreis), has been playing with stars like Attila Zoller, Chico Freeman and Red Holloway and participated in more the 30 CD productions during his impressive career. Whereas the musical vita of his younger companion appears unassumingly. Still. Because one thing is sure - Andreas Dombert will make his way, too. In 2002 he was awarded the Kulturförderpreis of the city of Straubing and he became member of the Bundesjazzorchester, since 2005 he is lecturer at the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität in Munich. With their Gibsons L5 both virtuosi indulge in the sheer pleasure of improvisation - always looking for the finest chords and melodies. Beside own compositions the nimble-fingered couple plays also compositions of Attila Zoller, Herman Woody or Benny Golson. One time lyrically dreaming, the other swinging exuberant-ly. But always with all love and soul for music. Helmut Kagerer Since 1990 jazz guitar lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik Nuremberg-Augsburg, 1991 winner of the Bayerischer Staatsförderpreis. 1995 - 1998 guitar duo with Attila Zoller "Generations Of Jazz Guitar", participation in more than 30 CD productions, played with Chico Freeman, Red Holloway, Matt Garrison, Peter Bernstein, Attila Zoller and others.
