Yakubu Moses Gago (Born February 22, 1993), better known by his stage name Jacob Gago, is a Nigerian music producer, DJ and rapper based in Los Angeles, CA. Jacob Gago primarily produces Hip Hop and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) but also enjoys composing music for films and commercials. He plays the piano, bass, drums, guitar and the ukulele. As a young boy, Jacob Gago accidently drank a toxic acid that left him nearly for dead. Doctors said there was no chance for survival. Miraculously Jacob kept holding on, struggling for his life, he traveled all over the world being held in different hospitals. While he was looking for his cure Jacob didn’t let his situation stop him from living his life. His travel to different hospitals gave him the opportunity to experience different cultures and different styles of music that opened the door for him to learn a wide range of music genres. After Gago was completely free from his illness and being hospitalized for 8 years, not to mention – having more than 15 major surgeries – he learned how to play the piano so he can produce and sing or rap his own songs by putting together the different types of cultural music styles he experienced. Jacob Gago says, “I thank God I’m alive! I should have been 6 feet under the ground, but since I miraculously made it through I got to tell the world they can make it too.
