简介
Utilizing hip-hop rhythms and dynamic theatrical techniques, Mayhem Poets have developed powerful performances and workshops to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to craft and perform original poetry. What began as a small open-mic at Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey, has grown into an international phenomenon. On their 2004-2005 national tour, Mayhem Poets brought their experience to such notable venues as the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, New Hampshire, The Cincinnati Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Sangamon Auditorium in Springfield, Illinois and the State Theater of New Jersey, as well as various local school districts, detention centers, hospitals, poetry- slams and open-mics. Eat Your Words is a cd which captures live poems performed by three members of the collective: Scott Tarazevits, Kyle Sutton, and Mason Granger. Each poet's one of a kind peformance style, and uncanny writing ability is fully showcased on this debut release. The overall group dynamic is astounding. Side-splitting social commentary, out-of-sight imagery, and pop culture references galore make Eat your words an amazing contribution to the spoken word scene.
