Baltimore City native David "Native Son" Ross has officially struck out on his own with his first solo effort, In Late Bloom. A mixture of pensive tracks that tap into the brain of the seasoned artist and the hip-hop laced inspiring tunes true to his form, In Late Bloom still offers listeners a new side of Ross previously unseen as he distances himself from his 5th L persona and moniker, the Native Son. "I'm definitely more vulnerable on this album," said Ross in a release on how In Late Bloom breaks away from work heard in past years. "I'm really exposing myself in a different way. It's much more personal, more introspective." Delving into topics such as the loss of his mother, the true meaning of love, marriage, misplaced goals and fatherhood, Ross proves that even when late, he is well worth the wait, delivering hit after hit in his own mysteriously smooth way. "Working with David on his first solo album was an exhilarating experience for me," said producer of In Late Bloom, Kevin "KP" Powe, Jr. of So Focused Entertainment, who also ventured into new territory, taking the role as lead producer of the album of every track.
