简介
Live from the Living Room Phil Petersen, Stu Kinniburgh and Tom Powell (Phil & Stu & Tom) Track Information 1. Beaumont Rag (Stu – Mandolin, Phil – Guitar, Tom – Bass) Perhaps a better title would be ‘The Faster, Faster, Faster! Oops, Too Fast Rag’. 2. Wild About My Lovin’ (Phil – lead vocal and guitar, Stu – vocal and mandolin, Tom – bass) Phil is a card-carrying member of the John Sebastian fan club. This is one from our ever-growing bank of his songs. 3. When You Say Nothin’ At All (Stu- lead vocal and mandolin, Phil – vocal and guitar, Tom – bass) We’re great fans of Allison Krause and Union Station. We saw them do this tune on an audio/visual system that makes grown men drool and were transfixed by their performance. 4. Oh Pretty Woman (Phil – lead vocal and guitar, Stu – vocal and guitar, Tom – bass) The song sounds great when Phil wears his Roy Orbison shades, and fortunately he had them on for the recording. 5. Poor Wayfaring Stranger (Stu – lead vocal and guitar, Phil vocal and guitar, Tom vocal and bass) We love doing gospel songs ‘cause we’re all Believers. This one has a nice bluesy feel and features a great lead by Phil. 6. Panhandle Rag (Stu – mandolin, Phil – guitar, Tom – bass) another rag, we heard this one done by the incomparable mandolin player, Chris Thile. Check out Nickel Creek or any of his solo projects and fasten your seatbelt. 7. Hickory Wind (Phil – lead vocal and guitar, Stu – vocal and mandolin, Tom – bass) We all want to spread our wings so soon and be out there making it on our own. But once you leave, you can’t go home again. Why the rush? Stick around a little bit longer. Relax. 8. Glory Bound Train (Stu – lead vocal and mandolin, Phil – vocal and guitar, Tom – vocal and bass) This has been a favorite for a long time – can’t you just hear that train moving along? Better get on board – you don’t want to be left at the station! There’s the whistle… 9. Tico Tico (Stu – mandolin, Phil – guitar, Tom – bass, Phil and Stu – percussion) Some songs just fall into place. One rehearsal and everything just works. This was NOT one of those songs – but it was worth the effort. David Grisman inspired this arrangement – though his is nearly twice as fast! 10. Further In the Hole (Stu – lead vocal and mandolin, Phil – vocal and guitar, Tom – bass) Don’t know if this song was written with musicians in mind, but if the shoe fits… These are some of the cleverest lyrics you’ll ever hear. 11. Dream (Phil – vocal and guitar, Stu – vocal and guitar, Tom – bass) We love the music the Everly Brothers did. Their harmonies are beautiful and people all start singing along with us. This one is a great love song – just listen to the words and sing along in your car – even at stop lights where others are watching! It is a liberating experience. 12. Little Mountain Church (Stu – lead vocal and mandolin, Phil – vocal and guitar, Tom – vocal and bass) A song that recognizes the value of those small churches all over the country and train and disciple people year in and out. We’ll dedicate this to all those hard-working pastors, Church leaders, Sunday School teachers, organists and song leaders out there in churches both big and small. 13. Bye Bye Love (Phil – vocal and guitar, Stu – vocal and guitar, Tom – bass) An awfully happy song about being dumped by the love of your life. Perhaps a lesson on how we should handle all types of rejection – at least how others should handle rejection… 14. The Galaxy Song (Stu vocal and guitar, Phil – harmonica, Tom – bass, sounds – the Winter Garden Strange Noise Ensemble) Do you ever wonder if your life matters? Do you think about your purpose in life – if you can make a difference? The guys from Monty Python’s Flying Circus offer an answer – from their unique perspective… This CD was recorded live in the Living Room of STUdios in Winter Garden, FL on a Fostex VF160. Except for a rare occasion, each song is one take straight through – just as you would hear it in our live programs. Cover Design and Creation – Jill Kinniburgh Production Advisor – Mark Kinniburgh Mastered at Bedroom Sound, Winter Garden, FL Graphic Design – Scott Holmgren Phil plays a Guild guitar, Stu plays a Langejans guitar and a Rigel mandolin, Tom plays an Englehardt stand-up bass.
