Private Joke are a UK-based collective consisting of brothers Julian & Stephen Butler. They have been recording together sporadically since 1993. This is their first studio album as Private Joke for 15 years, and they are rather proud of it! For some of the tracks, they have enlisted the help of the brilliant Matthew Hutchinson on drums. Julian's work is well-known to theatre-goers; for over 10 years he has written music for innumerable shows at Wimbledon's Polka Theatre, and many of these shows have gone on to tour the UK and in other countries around the world, such as the USA, Brazil and Australia. Julian and Stephen also worked together on a musical, 'Space Family Robinson,' which played to sold-out houses (plus a couple of pretty much empty ones) in London in May 2002. Don't be afraid to listen; this is catchy, song-based pop - no samplers or auto-tuning was used, and no musicians were harmed in the making of this record.
