简介
Eric Komar’s second CD, TWO LIFE, continues to showcase his inspirational jazz-rock songwriting, skillful guitar playing, and soulful vocal performance. It covers a broad spectrum of themes, ranging from birth and death to justice and peace. For this reason, TWO LIFE will satisfy fans of Contemporary Christian as well as modern Jewish rock. Studio musicians and special guests include Josh Nelson (the CD's producer) on drums, keyboards and additional guitars; Peter Allard on bass; and Ellen Allard and Robbi Sherwin on back vocals. “Justice, Justice” opens the CD with an infectious groove that has already made it a teen favorite at NY-area synagogues. It is followed by “God Full of Mercy,” a poignant ballad based on the traditional Jewish mourning prayer “Eil Malei”. Among other highlights is a soulful “Hinei Mah Tov” [how good it is] that is tailor-made for gospel choir, and the title track, a lullaby dedicated to Komar’s infant son. The concluding track is a Joe Pass-style solo rendition of the Chanukah hymn “Rock of Ages.” Fans of the jazz-rock-R&B along the lines of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Steely Dan or the virtuosic guitar of Phil Keaggy, George Benson, and Joe Pass will enjoy this CD immensely. * * * * * A portion of proceeds from the sale of TWO LIFE goes to the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for the children of fallen military personnel. * * * * * “Eric is a serious talent!” – Sam Glaser, singer/songwriter, L.A. Listeners of all ages have enjoyed the rock, folk, and jazz of veteran singer-songwriter-guitarist Eric Komar. His peace anthem “Lo Yisa Goi” (from the debut CD NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND) is used at 9/11 memorial services nationwide and is published by Transcontinental Music. Eric currently lives in New Jersey with his wife, son, and three cats. In addition to being a religious school music specialist, he works in the field of music publishing and teaches guitar.
