简介
I accidentally lived outside of Texas for a few years. My wanderings brought me back to the homeland back in 2015. During my roaming years I had always sworn that, when I get back to Texas, I'm going to jump into the music world down there. It was back in college when cooler people than me, sent like missionaries to a heathen world, evangelized me to the likes of Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle. Life changed for me. Songs became about the story. The notes were important, nobody likes wrong notes. But it was the story that drew me in. So here I am, back in the Texas Hill Country, guitar in hand, and I had noticed how all of the hillsides around my hometown had turned into HOA's. I wondered what those ranchers of old, the cowboys who made Texas' legacy, what they thought of all of the land being chopped into housing developments. The song that flowed out of me was Cowboy With No Horse to Ride. My wife heard it and said it was as good a song as any she'd heard from her Texas Country favorites. Now my opinion doesn't mean more than the ounce of breath it rides on, but my wife is not to be trifled with. So here we go. Write another song. Not so bad? Here's another thought, might as well write that down also. It's amazing to have your livelihood build out of something that grows inside of you. Not everyone gets that path in life. Enjoy these songs. I try to keep it honest, inviting, and easy to sing along to. Give it a listen and be sure to let me know what you think. I'm honored to make this little contribution to the legacy of Texas music.
