简介
Shhh! Can you hear the silence? The setting Sun becomes enveloped by the flowing quilt of cloud knitted with the colors of the rainbow. A touch of fresh breeze invigorates all and peace is instilled in every fiber of this wondrous space. Maok (born 11 May 1974 in Bratislava) is a Slovakian musician, improviser, film composer and multi-instrumentalist. He composed his first pieces at the young age of fifteen, followed by his first notable work on Slovakian director Richard Krivda’s film, Fly, Fly, All Who Have Feathers. He collaborated with director Pavel Barabas on the film, The Tatras – A Wilderness Frozen in Time and with Juraj Jakubisko on Bathory: Countess of Blood, which was nominated for the Slovakian “Slnko v sieti” National Film Awards in the category of Best Film Music. Apart from his work on film music, Maok also spends his time performing, organizing music seminars and working with fellow musicians and artists like the singer Eniesa and musicians Vojtech Havel, Karel Babuljak, Maria Kmetkova and others. He enjoys discovering new realms of sound. He leaves no stone unturned and so has explored the music potential of plastic bottles and other very curious instruments, which at first sight seem to have nothing to do with the world of music.
