Los Ciegos Del Barrio, a multigenre bilingual group from New York City, has now written another Bachata and Rock fusion track as they follow up their success in 2012 with their song "Loco".

While Los Ciegos Del Barrio has strayed away from Bachata as their primary form of recorded music, they have found creative ways to combine Bachata with other types of music. While they are not the first artist to ever accomplish this, they are the first artist to combine Bachata with a unique and alternative sound which gives the fusion a more raw and authentic sound...as does Alternative Rock music. Arguably, Los Ciegos Del Barrio has invented a new genre called "Alternative Bachata".

"Baby Boy", written by Alvin Suarez, lyrically describes the views of a man, now a father figure, who sings his message to a little boy, whom he vows to protect from continued abuse.

The protective father figure...is not only singing to all boys that are in this unfortunate situation, but he is also singing to his child self through reflections of his own experience as a boy.
