简介

This self-titled debut album hit bulls eye for Tasha Miller. It was released on a Saturday night back in November 2010. Tasha sold out both live shows at the same venue that night...with a custom-made "gobo" light beaming her name across the entire stage wall...and a HUGE shiny treble clef, in honor of her late and dearly beloved Grandma Audrey, carved entirely out of ice. Her hair was big, heels high, and saloon gown made from black taffeta and pink chenille. Her eyelashes were glued on for dear life. She woo'd the crowds with the diversity of her album interlaced with stories from her compelling trove of life adventures. Later that same month, this "surfaced" mystery singer was the feature story on the cover of the Living Section in The Oregonian newspaper. Within one year of having released herself, Tasha sold 1000 physical copies of this rare treasure...using only word of mouth, local gigs, a land line and a Hotmail account. Her life and home is a courageous and creative expression: 3 kids (Billy, Effie and Walty), 8 NAMED chickens (a raccoon recently ate one), a lover called Ox (who shot that raccoon mid-feast), 3 pianos (Gloria, Blondie and Goliath), one organ (Timbuktu!), 35 music students, an open front door, the list goes on. She has been termed "sorceress" as much as "artist" by the Portland press. Tasha has a 3.5 octave range and a bunch of tricks in the hat. When her rib cage expands and out comes her voice, ears in the room remember. Tasha employs jazz phrasing, but this 1974 girl from Buffalo County glides around on a broom made of country. Her's is a voice of singer/songwriter sensitivity..with the weight of good R&B. Self-assured and full of soul...Where has she been all our lives?
