Headsnack has already garnered viral YouTube success with his tracks "Antisocial Networking" (making fun of Facebook), "Sky Mall" (making fun of consumerism), and "Google Knows" (making fun of how Google owns your life). In this latest doozy, he's going after the big dogs. You are what you eat it's tortured meat! Hailing originally from Long Island and now living in northern New Jersey, Headsnack is a positive-minded producer, performer and lyricist who specializes in hip hop and electronic beat-making. His music, which been described by fans and reviewers as everything from “throwback boom bap” to “futuristic”, has been licensed to Bomb Hip Hop Records, Slamjamz Records, Kaiju Big Battel, The Independent Film Channel, Guitar Center, Public Property Films, Graffiti Verite, DJ Lord (of Public Enemy), Lickwood Labs Adult Films, and was selected by super-producer Just Blaze (Jay-Z, Kanye West) to appear on the nationally released compilation album, Fresh Cuts: Volumes 3 and 10. It can also be found on sites such as Spotify, Soundcloud, Soundclick, iStandardProducers, iTunes, and Rhapsody. Headsnack’s music has been written about in in various national and international media outlets including Vice, New York Newsday, Future Music, Insomniac, Elemental, Free Williamsburg, Hip Hop Connection (UK), Smooth magazine, OkayPlayer, HipHop DX, Rap Reviews, and Arena. Recording and performing under the moniker, Phon-X, Headsnack is/was a founding member the seminal underground hip-hop group, Regenerated Headpiece (RHP). Between the years 2001 and 2009, Regenerated Headpiece released three critically-acclaimed full-length albums and played more than 100 dates, mostly in and around New York City. RHP’s unique music has captured worldwide attention, garnering reviews and interviews in five languages. It also caught the ear of writer Robert Lanham, who listed RHP as a “Newer Band Kicking Some A** This Decade” in his 2002 bestseller The Hipster Handbook, alongside rising superstars EL-P (Run The Jewels), The White Stripes and Ryan Adams. As a member of Regenerated Headpiece, Headsnack has served as the opening act for such notable artists as Public Enemy, DJ/producer Prince Paul (Stetsasonic, De La Soul, Gravediggaz), Mixmaster Mike (Beastie Boys), Dilated Peoples, Blackalicious, The Sound of Urchin, Arsonists, and many of the finest groups of the hip hop underground. Since transitioning away from RHP to focus more on solo projects, Headsnack has created some viral YouTube songs which have garnered over 20,000 views. He has also gained experience as a party DJ, spinning hip hop, house, drum n’ bass, rock, pop, and R&B. In the past he’s had residencies in NYC and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Headsnack also has extensive knowledge of recording technology, keyboards, live sound, and DJ equipment, earned through several years of working as the lead Hi-Tech trainer for the world’s largest music retailer, Guitar Center. Headsnack’s production influences range from DJ Premier, Rick Rubin and Chief XL to De La Soul, Beck and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
