简介

Brother Stone & The Get Down is an American Neo-Soul/Pop R&B group fronted by song- writing team Collin Monahan and Matt Ranaudo. Inspired by an eclectic mix of artists Including Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, John Mayer, and D’angelo their melodic and harmonic styles pull from all of these influences to form songs of the Pop and R&B genre with a hint of classic soul. First cousins bonded by blood and countless hours spent playing and writing music together, Matt and Collin grew up in the NYC suburb of Milford, Connecticut. Their mothers are sisters who both ended up marrying their fathers, who were both professional musicians. Their fathers, Bob and Pat played in bands together for years while the two were growing up and represented their initial exposure to the musical arts and inspiration to start playing professionally together. After highschool, Monahan and Ranaudo went off to separate colleges but continued playing gigs on weekends and during summers to make money, and writing music together whenever they were able to. They were a regular presence on the Connecticut and surrounding area club scene, earning a reputation for their unique song arrangements and crisp vocal harmony. In December of 2015 Collin and Matt were featured on a local Connecticut radio show segment which showcased local up-and-coming talent on which they did a 30 minute interview and played 3 of their original songs on the air. Through this radio spot they were offered an opportunity to make a record in Los Angeles, a tune to which they immediately packed their hybrid car full to the brim and headed 3000 miles across the country; The result was the Mad at a Cactus EP. The record was written, arranged, and produced by Ranaudo and Monahan, and along with the help of Co-Producer two-time Grammy winner Bob Cutarella, they were able to put together a team of world-renowned musicians to play on it including Vinnie Colaiuta, Abe Laboriel Sr., Kenny Arranov, Tony Moore, Steve Madaio and more.
