简介
Glenn Gray is a professional guitar player, songwriter, teacher and recording artist. He is fluent with many styles of guitar playing and recently launched a solo acoustic project. Inspired by the likes of Chet Atkins, Marcel Dadi, Buster B. Jones and Tommy Emmanuel Glenn’s latest recordings are a radical departure from his earlier electric work. “The Old Strathcona Rag and Roll” and “Just Pickin’” are straight forward fingerstyle albums, no gimmicks, no technological modifications and no overdubs. These recordings are about solo performance and the attempt to create “one man arrangements” of popular melodies. A “must listen to” album, “Just Pickin’” is for the serious guitarist though the lay person can equally enjoy these recordings of popular songs. “The Old Strathcona Rag and Roll” defines the music style “rag and roll.” Glenn’s vocal music comprises many influences from ragtime to rock ’n’ roll and many things in between. Not always knowing how to respond to the inquiry, “what kind of music do you play?” Glenn fondly calls his music “Rag and Roll” as “it covers all the blues, bluegrass, folk, ragtime and rock and roll elements" that comprise his style. Glenn's latest release "Five Bucks A Nail" is an all original album of Rag and Roll music. Songs of love, loss, struggle and hope that are filled with humorous anecdotes. Glenn's solid fingerpicking style provides the backbone to his authentic vocal style.
