简介
In this album, you will hear spontaneous interpretations of jazz standards, an Argentinian popular song by Ariel Ramirez, a Brazilian choro by Ernesto Nazareth, and a jazz art song by Steve Lacy. Very few parts from the whole album have been prearranged: the introduction in "Alone Together" composed by Lefteris Kordis; the switching back and forth between a 9/8 meter (Karsilama dance, quite popular in Greece and Turkey) and a 3/4 meter in "Up Jumped Spring;" the tempo changes in "Little Willie Leaps," which has been conceived as a three-part suite: the first part being "All God's Children Got Rhythm" in a swingy upbeat tempo, the second part being Miles Davis' "Little Willie Leaps" sung wordless, and finally the third part being Panayota's re-composition of "Little Willie Leaps" based on Skeeter Spight's lyrics. Panayota and Lefteris have been very privileged to have received the blessings of Sheila Jordan and the late Steve Lacy for their duet. The music that they make together could be described as colorful, playful, spontaneous, and sincere. We hope you will enjoy it!
