Born as a libra, 19 years ago at the Kingston Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica as Aaliyah Williams, she was destined to take her place in the music industry. She began honing her writing skills writing poems at the primary school level, which she continued well into high school. She believes that music chose her and she is answering to the call. Although young to the business she is fully focused on her career, she wants to take her music to an international platform. Admiring the musical artistry of the likes of Tanya Stephens, Queen Ifrica, Shabba Ranks, Eminem, Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer and Ninja Man, she is aiming to surpass the influence they have had in music and on the world. Believing in 'humble calf drinks the most milk,' she remains humble and working hard at having a successful career. With the support of her schoolmates at Camperdown High School in Jamaica, she is even more determined not to let them down. Already an internet sensation with her freestyle video for Mothers Crying going viral, it is very clear that the public loves her work. With a strong unique voice and clarity, it is easy for one to be captivated by her presence. Diamond Liyah is looking to set the industry straight by doing good genuine music that people can respect.
