"Tribal Moods" is an attempt to promote local artists while exploring new roads in the world of African fusion music. In total, 12 musicians from 3 different continents were involved in the project. Most of the songs have been recorded in Ghana between 2005 and 2008, when Mr.Nubrik had set up a number of fruitful collaborations with musicians from Ghana and Burkina Faso. Although they had different ethno-cultural backgrounds and represented a variety of musical genres, Mr.Nubrik recorded whatever he considered suitable and inspiring. The song’s frameworks have always been provided by Mr.Nubrik’s beat programming, on which the other musicians could add their contributions. Although guided by Mr.Nubrik, the artists were given a maximum of liberty in shaping their contributions, especially in the writing of the lyrics. Adding one layer at a time, the tracks developed gradually, often over several years and in different locations. Every musician injected new flavours, letting the songs grow organically and allowing the music to take new directions.
