Hello... this Cd is a tribute for my son JAY. Jay is a very special person . It was recorded over a few weekends and a few days. Jay has played drums since the age of 4 he is 30 years old now.. 15 years past cancer and still puts out cookies for Santa! His insight into life is great .. he has got it right why can't you figure it out!! Its a direct line into life! It is mostly about his drum Playing / Jay Funk rap is as up to date as any thing........ Jay visits Oz could have been written 20 years ago My good friend Joe Arnould ( From Little Joe Records) put the lead licks on Turkey creek and Jay visits OZ There is something here for everyone............... country( Across Town) bubble gum rock (Loved you too) and of course Jay visits Oz Oz is a throwback to the jam songs of 70'S however it has 2 rhythem guitars and one lead ,not two leads and one rhythem and one of the best lead guitar solos ever,, but Joe says it could have been better ( we did it in one take) Jay dropped a drumstick!! but we did it!! all the other songs and things were just done pretty much spontaneous style. Jay funk /rap was done in one take its totally off the top of our heads,,as was Beam me up!! we just played and this is what was created! High Heels on the boat dock, we worked on a little It took 1 and1/2years to get words right did music in about 2 1/2hours LOL Jay Jazz and The Big Door are Jays creations its what he hears as was Beam me up!! How he put it all together just amazes me!! Across town is in a country vein I like it because it can be looked at from 3 sides and I just love Jay's hi hat work on this song!!! Loved you too is a really old song written in 1974 but Jay puts a really neat Drum beat to it with His drumming it has off time really unique sound and speed of song Lauderdale Road is about how we live life and sometimes hit the bottom but keep going on, a very symbolic song. Great lyrics Turkey Creek is another old song also written about 1979 I tried to count the total amount of chords in it one time i think it has 21 or 23 chords, just a fast paced feel good song.Jay and I put the break in it so he could do a giant Drum Roll!!!! and Joe Kicks tail with the lead .. there is nothing out there on the airwaves like Turkey Creek!!! All i wanna do is a one take song Jay started playing and this is what happend!! 94th page is another old song written in about 1984 Jay had played a great drum solo to it so we did it again but he was too tired i guess to play the solo again but he did play some we gave it a really big ending though!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Cd has no click track to it.. its all real time.. if nothing else its nice to hear music that is really real and not processed to the hilt!!! We just want to share our music with the world..
