88rising作为目前极具开创性的音乐与艺术团体，以其在互联网引起巨大反响的新世代中坚力量艺术家Joji、Rich Brian、NIKI和Higher Brothers等而闻名，现今仍在努力继续把他们优秀的艺术家们推向不断变化的音乐领域的最前沿。今年夏天，88rising与菲律宾环球电信合作，推出了首个本地化的子厂牌项目——PARADISE RISING。植根于菲律宾的PARADISE RISING，旨在通过发掘本土最有前途的音乐人才，从而提振当地音乐领域的发展潜力。仰赖于环球广阔的网络资源与本地化发展经验，加之88rising的国际影响力和永不止步的热情与野心，PARADISE RISING项目将把这些新兴艺术家的声量传播到整个世界的各个角落。 作为PARADISE RISING推出计划的一部分，合辑《semilucent》率先释出，这是一个与多位菲律宾本土新兴艺术家共同合作的独特项目。《semilucent》能够最为深刻地展示出PARADISE RISING子厂牌的风格与愿景，也预示着这里即将萌芽的未来音乐风向。本次合辑中，有土生土长的菲律宾知名制作人Moophs与Leila Alcasid合作呈现单曲“Clouds”，刚与Justin Bieber合作过的国际知名流行音乐制作人HARV也献上倾力制作Kiana V的单曲“Safe Place”。同时，本次合辑还收录了菲律宾queer音乐界的开拓者Jason Dhakal的作品，以及一位无可挑剔，正崭露头角的地下音乐人Massiah，还有此前曾在Spotify首发登顶的Fern.带来的单曲。 这张专辑曲风兼收并蓄，融合了爵士、R&B以及90年代流行乐与灵魂乐等多种风格。这些音乐风格的节点，避开了听众固有的期待——带来了一种空灵的音乐氛围，散发着声光的魅力。 另外，此次《semilucent》专辑的一大特色，即作品都是从菲律宾的美丽之中汲取灵感，尤其展现着正从沉睡中慢慢苏醒的海岸线，所带来的温暖缤纷的色彩。 于7月31日发布的由HARV & Felisha Fury担纲制作，Kiana V演唱的汇编主打歌“Safe Place”，叙述了对于在人性与生活中最常感知到的“如果…”的情绪的内省，Kiana对这种复杂的情绪，提供了一种坚定有力的呈现。“Safe Place”将成为听众们走进《semilucent》这张合辑、感受魅力的入口，也将成为人们更深入了解菲律宾这个国家的入口。 《semilucent》将作为PARADISE RISING这个子厂牌亮相的开端，意在申明88rising对菲律宾当地文化的态度——支持与扩充菲律宾音乐人才，将菲律宾的声音介绍给正翘首以盼的世界。 88rising, the pioneering music and arts collective best known for its Internet-breaking mainstays Joji, Rich Brian, NIKI, and Higher Brothers, continues to put their artists at the forefront of the ever-changing music landscape. This summer, 88rising has partnered with Globe Telecom to launch its first localized sublabel, PARADISE RISING. Rooted in the Philippines, PARADISE RISING seeks to uplift the country’s untapped potential in music by discovering the most promising local talent. Utilizing Globe’s expansive network and local expertise with 88rising's international reach and insatiable ambitions, PARADISE RISING will amplify the voices of these emerging artists to the rest of the world. As part of the launch, PARADISE RISING is to release semilucent, a unique curation featuring home-grown emerging acts. semilucent deeply reflects the sublabel’s aspirations, signalling to the budding future this region holds. Acclaimed producer and Philippines native Moophs came together with Leila Alcasid in “Clouds,” while international pop producer HARV, fresh off several collaborations with Justin Bieber, produced Kiana V’s “Safe Place.” The album also features Jason Dhakal, a trailblazer in the queer Philippine music community, an impeccable up-and-coming underground artist named Massiah, and Fern., who has previously debuted at No. 1 on Spotify. Genre-bending eclectic sounds with elements of Jazz, R&B, ‘90s Pop and Soul, these musical nodes elude at what’s in store for listeners--an ethereal atmosphere, emitting lights and sounds and beauty. In addition, the semilucent album campaign features artwork that draws inspiration from the beauty of the Philippines, and particularly from the colors of a warm coastline slowly waking up from slumber. Releasing on July 31st, the compilation’s lead track “Safe Place” by Kiana V and produced by HARV & Felisha Fury, is an on-going introspection of what-ifs, one that is too common to the human condition, with Kiana delivering a decisive performance of emotional complexity. “Safe Place” offers a window into the beautiful picture developing within semilucent and within the country of the Philippines. semilucent will debut the beginning of the PARADISE RISING sublabel with intent to reaffirm 88rising’s statement to the region--to support and amplify Philippine talent while introducing those voices to the waiting world.
