Charles Leon a.k.a. CharLeon is a DJ, dance producer and tenor saxophonist from Amsterdam. He started playing music on the streets with his older brother Marnix Emanuel, so they could earn some extra pocket money for the latest Pokémon cards. Well here it all began... After playing classical piano, pop guitar and clarinet, CharLeon fell in love at the age of 11 with the saxophone. For six years he played alto-saxophone and at the age of 17 switched to tenor saxophone. Also around this time CharLeon started breaking down the house with his DJ skills. CharLeon uses his saxophone to add live elements to his show. With his DJ act he has played sold-out club nights at venues like Escape Amsterdam, Bitterzoet, Club Lite and Radion Amsterdam. CharLeon's style can be described as melodic feel good dance. His debut single "Lion Hearts" feat. Marnix Emanuel was released on his own label "Golden Love Music Amsterdam". The "Artist Union" featured "Lion Hearts" on their SoundCloud account with more than 1 million followers. Spotify Netherlands picked up the fresh sound of CharLeon and featured "Lion Hearts" on their "Hot New Dance Tracks" playlist. Music from established DJs like Tiesto and Calvin Harris are in this playlist and now CharLeon is also part of it.
