Working on this album/project has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I like to say that it's been three years of my life condensed into 30 minutes. I had the pleasure of getting to record this project with some amazingly, talented musicians that I have the pleasure of calling friends. Going through this process has caused me to grow tremendously as a musician and person. I started this project thinking of myself as a guy who "just" plays the saxophone, and ended it being a writer, composer, producer, and arranger and I wouldn't have it any other way. Growing up in Detroit, I was hugely influenced and inspired by the Motown sound. That's why this project features all live instrumentation. I grew up playing music in my school band and for my church orchestra, and was also a child of the 90's era of hip hop. All of these sounds, styles, and influences are what helped inspire what we like to call musical fusion. A sound that fuses jazz, hip hop, soul, funk, and gospel all into one to give you a sound that you've never experienced until now. It's been a pleasure creating this, and I'm excited for you to experience it. Welcome to Love Extravagant!
