This CD features some of the most treasured Sacred and Contemporary Christmas carols sung by Amber Whitney, a young Lyric Soprano with an exceptionally beautiful voice. She is accompanied by the Ken LaRoche Quintet and the Peterborough Orchestra. 17 year old Amber's love of vocal music goes back to her upbringing. Her family; mother, father, brothers and sisters all sing and are quite musical, playing several different instruments. Amber sings in school, in the LDS Church and in shows and concerts throughout New England. In addition to singing, Amber, a junior in high school, enjoys athletics and runs in cross-country competitions. Amber enjoys beautiful music in several genres: Classical, Inspirational, Broadway and some Celtic. She is under the management of New England Talent Ltd. training with Dr Dean Macy and has a recording contract with Epilogue Records. This is her first album. It will not be her last. There are three instrumentals in this album that separate the sections- Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Amber Whitney has an incredible voice for one so young. Her voice is pure and angelic. Amber was able to transition so well from a traditional song like "O Holy Night" which is slow and majestic to an upbeat song like "Come, Dear Children" and do it with such ease. "An Amber Christmas" also has 3 beautiful, instrumental arrangements woven throughout the cd. This cd is a joy and a treat from beginning to end. December 8, 2006 Reviewer: R.
