简介
The concept for "Take Off Your Shoes" came during a prayer & worship time in Navodari Romania. Steve Lang and Mark Biech of "Lu-mi-nos" led worship on the mission field in a small living room where Romanians and others were invited to seek God through music and spontaneous worship. The reason that they even got started on the idea of spontaneous worship is because very often they would come before God and have absolutely nothing to offer. Traditional pre-written songs just did not express their hearts in these moments. They would be exhausted from the fight or the work and would just start to play the guitars. Their Romanian friends of the band "Miercuri si Vineri" (Wednesday & Friday), would join them with their instruments. Steve would sing out something that he needed to say to God, or Mark would start singing a prayer that was deep within his spirit. The two of them would start to echo each other or sing two songs simultaneously and before they knew it, a new song was being written from the Lord. Often hours would pass and they would not have finished the same song. There was never the intention to record this music until in another prayer time Mark felt God ask them to record and capture a little of the feeling of this spontaneous style worship. There may seem to be a contradiction in terms between spontaneity and recording something in a studio, but oddly enough, God led them into the studio at the base in Romania to lay down one track after another. They had little, and in some cases, no idea of what they would record. They felt God's anointing from the first moment and kept marveling at His continued presence on the music as the project moved ahead. This anointing came on all the musicians in this project and often left Steve and Mark standing behind the glass of the sound room watching with tears in their eyes. Father, Thank You!
