Divergent, a newly formed jazz quartet featuring Kate Skinner (piano and voice), Vern Sielert (trumpet), Josh Skinner (bass), and Chris Smith (drums) presents their debut album. It is a combination of unique and hip arrangements of jazz standards mixed with creative originals by Kate Skinner. Recorded with the goal of achieving a highly acoustic sound within a jazz context that grooves hard, Surf Spray is a collection of music for all jazz listeners.

Artist Jo Bradbury created new and original artwork for the compact disc packaging. Listeners who purchase the hard copy disc will be treated to a piece of exciting artwork along with the music of Divergent.
