Emrand Henry, singer and song writer is from St. Lucia, the gem of the Caribbean also known as “The Helen of the West”. He was discovered in 2003 on winning the Cable & Wireless “Starquest” competition in his homeland, with his original Reggae piece “What is going on?” This event became the gateway to many opportunities for the young and upcoming artiste. These included a guest appearance on BET's 106 & Park segment, and many Main Stage performances regionally and internationally, and made Emrand a household name in St.Lucia and abroad. This also made way for the opportunities to share the stage with such greats as Maxi Priest, Kenny Rogers, Jadee, Christafari, Sherwin Gardner and others. Emrand’s lyrics encompass subjects such as Love, Peace, Unity, Spiritual Enlightenment, and Social Issues in a variety of genres, especially Gospel with flavors of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, R & B and Zouk. He prides himself on singing only his originally written pieces for which he has become very popular on the charts of radio stations as far reaching as Europe, Africa and North America. He continues to collaborate with some of the industry’s finest and also works with the top producers in the industry e.g. Francis “Leebo” DeLima, Sherwin Gardner, Rawle “Rossi” Alcide, Slaughter House Records, Lynx Studios and many more. In 2008 he released an album titled “No Retreat No Surrender". He has and continues to release many hit singles consistently to include “Bad Man Role” (#1 on charts in Kenya), “Shaken But Not Broken", “Song for Haiti", “Set me free”, No One In The World”, “Mama”, “You Are Not Alone” and a lot more. After touring extensively, Emrand released his new album in June, 2010, produced at the studios of Murphy Productions by Miami based, Jamaican born Stephen Murphy titled “Line Up Di Troops Dem". This album is quickly becoming known as the St.Lucia - Jamaican connection due to the fine collaboration of some of Jamaica's top Dancehall/Reggae Gospel Artistes such as St. Matthew, Reality, and Ordinary. In September of 2011 Emrand released his album “In Shiloh” produced by St.Lucian producer Germine “DJ Grace” Sealy. This worship album with the theme song “If God Be For Me” which includes a video is a number one hit on the charts. This album is a very intimate worship album for Emrand; however he gave in to collaborate with DA Jay, Jamaican gospel reggae artist. The album is a top seller on www.gospelreggae.com the world’s number one site for gospel reggae music. Emrand is highly motivated to succeed in the music industry worldwide and he continues to be magnified by the promoters and media internationally. His energy and stage presence is very captivating.
