The instrumental has that electronic sound I was looking for and the lyrics on there are pretty honest and bold. That makes a good opening track.” As tracks begin to flow one to the next Mecca dives deeper into his personal thoughts on songs like “PLANET OF THE APE,” “GO HATER” and “MONEY LIKE ME,” continuing from where he left off on his last project “Alienated,” giving the listener a better understanding of who he really is…..different. Other hard hitting tracks like “CAUGHT UP,” “SUPER SONIC,” “CAN’T BE OVER,” “BREAK YA HEART” and “YA BODY TALKS” are directed at the ladies with each song bringing its very own unique element to the mixtape. “All these songs are saying something lyrically, and musically they make you just want to hit the club and wild out,” says Mecca. Ultimately, INITIAL CONTACT is a well put together project which only features vocal performances from Dupes and Shepp Dawg, unlike the previous which featured many more guest appearances, and is a great listen from beginning to end.
