Patrick Contreras' acoustic violin sounds like bluesy overdriven electric guitar with progressive rock classical virtuoso technique at one moment and hot club swing country fiddle the next. All with veteran acoustic rhythm guitarist Steve Ono reading his every impulse.

Patrick Contreras and Steve Ono first met at springtime jam session on Fulton Mall. It was a hotter than normal spring day. At the time Patrick was still at Cal State Fresno studying violin performance and working on classical music and violin technique. He was also listening to Papa John Creech, Stephane Grappelli and had been exposed as a child to his father's blues record collection while growing up in the south central Fresno, a tough barrio neighborhood filled with Narcocorrido, hip hop, heavy metal music and frequent gunfire.

Steve Ono had been playing guitar professionally since the 1970s and had backed up many soloists including the Harmonica genius Eddie Gordon. Then he jammed with Patrick Contreras and had an instant musical chemistry experience.
