David Knowles is a distinctive vocalist and songwriter based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Lyrically, David draws inspiration from classic writers including William Blake, Oscar Wilde, Jack Kerouac and Hunter Thompson. Years spent travelling the world (including Latin America, Asia and Europe) have provided a rich vein of inspiration for his songwriting and familiarity with a range of instruments. With a depth and range that belie his relatively tender years, David’s voice has drawn favorable comparisons to such iconic performers as Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Grammy award-winning country singer Ray Lamontagne. His songwriting has been variously compared to leading contemporary singer songwriters including Damien Rice, Jose Gonzalez and Fink as well as Californian alternative rock veterans Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
