Bongos Ikwue stepped into the music industry to begin singing professionally in 1967, but his amateur days date back as far as 1959. The founder of The Groovies, Bongos Ikwue became the only man in Nigeria at that time to give modern blues a real meaning, a new soul. This unique sound of rhythm and blues along with funky dance beats almost immediately launched his music to become instantly popular by a wide spectrum of fans. It was not known at the time that these fans would follow his music and career to span more than three decades, multiple countries and eleven albums. These historical albums that many grew up listening to became scarce and were not able to be found in their true form, many have written asking for a way to purchase the music that formed their foundation so that they could pass it along to their children.
