简介
Everpresent releases it's edgy, futuristic, and passionate 5th record: "Phoenix". Venturing deeper into the left-field of electronica, soul, pop, middle-eastern electro, and avant-garde styles, "Phoenix" is by far the most diverse group of compositions released by Everpresent to date, and features both new and returning collaborators. Designed to sonically and lyrically push the boundaries of dark electro-pop, and incorporate elements of other vocal/groove-oriented styles, Everpresent offers something both alternative and infectious that contains elements (such as lush vocal harmonies, layered keyboard tracks, and infectious dance rhythms) that will resonate with a variety of listeners that demonstrate a broad range of musical flavors. Matthew Cahoon, architect and nucleus of the group, provides lead and background vocals, keyboards, sequencing/electronics, and drums. "Phoenix" also welcomes the return of vocalist/guitarist/songwriter/vocal arranger, Victoria Mierlak, (who can be heard on Everpresent's 2004 "Singles and Remixes" 2005's "Elusive" single and seen on 2005's Archive DVD). She returns to add her tasteful guitar rhythms to the dance track "Feel" and to contribute her passionate and precise vocals to the tracks "Rain" and "Haunt Me". "Phoenix" also brings 2 new collaborators to Everpresent: Yeshiva, a charismatic pop/rock/eclectic vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, brings her dynamic vocals and theatrical inflections to the tracks "Take Me", "If You Knew", and "Rain". Kellee Webb, an accomplished singer-songwriter, bassist, and guitarist, brings her rock-solid acoustic guitar rhythms and to the electronic reggae vibe on the track "Take Me". Steve Catizone and the James Willetts of Sanctum Sound (who co-produced Everpresent's 2002 debut and 2004's Singles and Remixes, and created "Elusive-Nocturnal Groove Instrumental" track on 2007's "Collage" with Matthew) have added their production expertise and engineering to the multiple sonic layers of this new release. Kenny P.- who co-produced 2007's "Collage" and provided the remix of "Euphoria"- (Organic Mix) is contributed his recording/engineering talents to the new tracks as well "Phoenix" offers a deeper, more dynamic sonic adventure and presents a potent new style of Dark Pop Electronica to the current musical landscape.
