In various incarnations and venues, the Carpenter Ants have been playing every Wednesday night for nearly a decade. Trying to circumvent the time and effort of a studio project, we had talked about making a live recording for some time. One Wednesday afternoon, I bumped into John Kessler and he mentioned that his recording equipment was already in his car. "Why not tape tonight?" he said. With virtually no forethought or planning this is the unexpurgated result (OK, we did fix a couple of background vocals). It's far from perfect but it doesn't get much more "live" than this. ML.
