简介
Produced by Carter Fox Mastered by Drew Mercadante aka Jack Deezl and Carter Fox All instruments and programming - Carter Fox Vocals on "Nu Horizons" - Kelley Plante 'Existential' is described by Carter Fox as a feature length audio film in 3 acts: Act 1 - Apocalypse Nu; Act 2 - Day Tripper; and Act 3 - Starchild, with each segment running about 30 minutes in length. Each act takes the listener on a different journey, defying genres and labeling and creating a collection of music that cannot be categorized into one name. Apocalypse Nu acts as the introduction to the adventure, and introduces the listener to a dark and fearsome world ravaged by war, natural disasters, and man made fury. As the listener dives more into the music, they find themselves entering into more open and responsive tones. Act 2 is Day Tripper, a spiritual collection of psychedelic electronic jazz elements mixed with live horn sections and the occasional chip tune and wobble. Through the confidence gained during the Day Tripper venture, the listener enters the final Act, Starchild, a futuristic production that revisits classic styles of music combined with future elements. 'Existential' was recorded over a three year period in Philadelphia, PA, and Brooklyn, NY. Carter Fox describes the process of creating this album as "liberating and fun. I had the opportunity to let loose on my emotions without question and create pieces of music that are actually pieces of me captured in musical form." Carte Fox is a bassist and producer from Philadelphia, PA. He began his career at age 15 performing at private functions with a jazz quartet, eventually spanning out by 17 to form his own trio of ambient jazz jams who performed around the east coast. After high school, he attended Drexel University, where he continued his craft of writing and recording and performed during opening sets for major artists such as B.O.B. and Major Lazer and began working with Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory. Carter has recorded, played, mixed, and worked with Tayyib Ali, David Ivory, Chuck Treece, Leon Huff, Richard Waller, Bok Nero, Anthony Riley, Lucy Stone, Adventure Club, Leaf Walker, and more. He currently plays with indie/blues/rock/soul outfit JUTAUN (www.jutaun.com). Special thanks to Eliana Aklepi and the Elation Station team & Mad Dragon Media.
