Sotavento专辑介绍：by Backroads Music/HeartbeatsThe second album by the group Sotavento traces the various Detours (Desvios) these Hispanic musicians have travelled to bring us the music on this album. Formed in 1981, Sotavento is dedicated to promoting an understanding of the people and cultures of Latin America through traditional and contemporary music from countries such as Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil. Desvios blends the celebratory music of the high Andes with original pieces, sung mainly in Spanish, in the style of the Nuevo Cancion (New Song) movement, with lyrics dealing with the perennial themes of love and the struggle for freedom. The six musicians play a variety of instruments including guitars, pan pipes, quena flutes, charango, violin and hand drums to produce a spirited album that fuses impassioned female vocals with fiery instrumental prowess.
