This album was inspired by and written for my time as special music guest at Young Life Frontier Ranch Snow Camp. It is the tale of a traveler on a life changing journey that is both tragic and redemptive. Each song, was written as a companion to the message of the Gospel shared during a Young Life snow camp weekend (visit younglife.org for more information). These messages are the foundation of a life changing weekend for hundreds of high school students. Over the course of the weekend the speaker tells the epic story of Christ’s life, love and sacrifice (a lot to pack into one weekend for sure) in each message. I presented one song before each message, and shared a short intro to set the stage for the story. Because I have been impacted by the mission of Young Life since I was born (my grandfather, father, mother and brother all work/worked for Young Life), it is truly a blessing to share these songs that were written for the purpose of reaching kids for Christ. As the full time Senior Designer for Young Life, I have the unique opportunity to share my art as a way of reaching kids each day. So when this chance to share my passion for music and once again mix both my music and the mission of Young Life, I knew God would bless this project.
