简介
Intensely introspective and yet entirely relatable, Trails tells a story of personal struggle through universal emotion and one man's journey through everyman's eyes. This album was recorded over the course of several months in late summer/early fall 2013 in Muncie, Indiana. It was engineered by John Fishell in Studio 1, Sursa Hall. "The most incredible thing about this record is how much it reminds me of a collegiate study between T.S. Elliott and Robert Frost. One poet known for his technical prowess, the latter, for his approachability to nearly every person regardless of background. In "Trails" Brewer has masterfully blended the two. Flawless execution and highly skilled composition blend with a lyrical maturity that knows its audience intimately- no matter who they may be." -Patrick Roberts (vocals & guitar, Veseria) "Far too often, we're exposed to, perhaps an excellent lyrical narrative, paired with little to no melodic value. But even more than his well-thought-out, not overly specific, not overly vague lyrics, are Brewer's memorable melodies." -Rick King (owner & head engineer, King Sound Studio) "Ryan M. Brewer’s newest album, “Trails,” is a playground for his piercing lyrics, which are like a hundred tiny knives, sharpened with honest bitterness. Brewer tells the truth on all ten of these tracks, and oftentimes it’s the truth the listener would rather not hear, but needs to." -Steve Boller (singer/songwriter) "There is so much certainty in this album. Ryan is not afraid to toss aside the filter and get down to the point he is trying to make. If you are looking for someone to say the things you thought would get you into trouble (if you said them), boy is this music for you!" -Joe Young (singer/songwriter) Ryan M. Brewer is a singer/songwriter from Indianapolis, Indiana. A relentless performer, Brewer has toured the nation from NYC to LA...from Milwaukee to Austin and continues to do so regularly. A singer/songwriter by trade, Ryan is more accurately described as a musical storyteller. Having always placed the primary importance on lyricism, his music tends to float effortlessly between genres...each individual song falls precisely where it needs to in order to most accurately tell the story. Drawing influence in everything from John Mayer to Rod Stewart, from Mumford and Sons to Pete Townshend...you're likely to hear just about any genre pop up in a Ryan M. Brewer tune. Brewer's vocal range is impressive, his song structure is challenging, and his guitar work is intricate. Ryan's solo debut album, self-titled and self-released in February '12, has been well-recieved by fans and critics alike. The first single from the album, called "Strings", won the Promoter's Choice Award at the 2013 Bloomingtunes Songwriter Contest.
