The Carvels NYC are led by Lynne Von Pang, former front woman of seminal NYC "scum rock" blues punk band Da Willys and later the tight hard rocking outfit Trick Babys. Lynne's voice is legendary to veterans of the lower east side rock scene. Described as "throaty Shangri La growling...a leather-lunged singer with excellent control" (Trouser Press) and "a bray of life" (The Village Voice), Lynne's voice has matured into a rich, nuanced instrument that runs the gamut from honey-sweet to kissing-the-concrete-gritty, with the inescapable smart-a** attitude of the NYC streets. The Carvels NYC play original songs penned by Lynne, with a sprinkling of covers originally performed by girl group and punk legends such as The Shirelles and The Ramones. Along with Lynne's vocals and rhythm guitar, the sound is filled out by top-notch seasoned musicians - co-founder Brian Morgan on lead guitar, Steve Pang on drums and David Spinley on saxophone. Even the hardest heart will melt when Lynne sings songs like original tune "Dusty Gold" and cover "He's Gone" (The Chantels).
