When asked about who this song is meant for, the artist mentions that "she envision[s] sexy people of all genders, sizes, and looks dancing to this song, sweating out their edges and losing themselves in the music." iamkyami found solid inspiration in Missy Elliot during the creation of Body Rock. "Although I come off as a kind and loving person, which I think I am for the most part, there’s a part of me that is super dark, destructive, ironic and a general rule breaker... I have always always loved Missy. The way that Missy paved the way in music with the weird and wonderful, lyrical and visual genius that she is."
