简介
This was my first album, recorded on reel to reel tape. The master tapes sat in my cellar for many years and I’ve finally got round to digitizing them. I hope you enjoy the classic warm, saturated tape sound. I composed the Big Field as a eulogy to my days growing up on a farm in Wales. It is a rural piece and speaks of the earth, hills and wide open spaces. The music has a slow wandery pace. Time on the farm was described by events like the sound of the milking machine switching on at teatime, the tractors starting up in the top shed, the crow flight coming over the trees at dusk, the arrival of the milk truck and the return of the school bus. There weren’t many dramas – except when the bull got loose. Then you better look sharp and run for it.
