As amazing as it is, Love and War had to overcome many obstacles. Having released several solo albums and albums with The Navigators, Dewey Kincade decided to try something new. Okay, two new things. The first was to record songs that were all written around the same time. The band didn\'t like this idea, but Dewey decided to pay for it himself, which gave him the final say. The other new idea that Dewey tried was to record the album live. So while there are overdubs, you will always hear the band playing live on every track.

The album hosts some of Dewey\'s best love songs as well as some of his most biting social commentary to date.
