Abigail Washburn and Béla Fleck are two of the most impressive banjo players in music today, and today the pair has announced that come Oct. 7, they will release an eponymous album together. In anticipation of the release, the duo has premiered album track “Railroad.” 　　“My mom sang this song to me when I was a little girl, and it was my favorite,” Washburn said. “Béla heard me singing this trippy version to Juno one day and said, ‘You’re onto something there.’” 　　The full-length will consist of vocal and banjo tunes both classic and original. 　　“We didn’t want any other instruments on there, because we’re into this idea that we’re banjo players, and that should be enough,” Fleck said. “Sometimes when you add other instruments, you take away from the ability of the banjo to show all its colors, which are actually quite beautiful.” 　　The husband-wife team will be touring consistently before and after the album’s release if you’re interested in hearing what these two musicians can accomplish together.
