简介

The Daddy’s Home CD has 6 "oldies" and 5 originals by Dennis Marcellino. Dennis is a former member of Sly & The Family Stone, The Elvin Bishop Group, The Electric Flag, and Rubicon. He is also a former member of the group that originally had the hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", The Tokens. The theme of this CD is: love, happiness and romance. On this CD Dennis does a remake of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", but this time with a harmony on some of the lead vocal. He also does a beautiful version of "Love Song", originally recorded by Elton John in 1972. Other popular songs include: "What A Wonderful World", "Unchained Melody" and "Daddy's Home". It also includes a song that was written and performed by Dennis' 5 year old son, Timmy, called "I Am The Music Man". If you like the feeling of "cute", you'll love this song. With the exception of his son's song, Dennis played all of the instruments and sang all of the vocal parts on this CD. Some of Dennis’ songs charted as high as #1 in their genre at mp3.com, where they received around 400,000 plays and downloads. "If there's a better sax player than Dennis Marcellino in the world, I haven't heard him." – Carter Knox, Entertainment Director, Fred Meyer Corporation "The best version of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' I've ever heard!" – Ken O'Brien, DJ, KISN-FM "All of the remakes on this CD sound better than the originals!" – Bart Brodsky, Publisher of "Open Exchange", Berkeley, California About the Artist: Dennis Marcellino is a former member of The Tokens ("The Lion Sleeps Tonight") and San Francisco based groups Sly & The Family Stone, The Elvin Bishop Group, The Electric Flag and Rubicon. With these groups he recorded 10 albums. As a solo artist he had the #1 selling cassette in the Northwest in 1992 & 1993 ("It's Christmas"), and a 1999 CD release "New Beginning" (on which he also played all of the instruments and sang all of the vocal parts). His instrumental release in 1996 (now released as “Tenderly”) earned him a 5-star review in Jazzscene Magazine, in which the reviewer called him a "master virtuoso" of the saxophone. Also noteworthy is the fact that in 1978, the band that Dennis co-founded with Sly & The Family Stone co-founder Jerry Martini, Rubicon, closed the largest paid-ticket event in history, Cal Jam 2 (350,000 attended, 250,000 paid), which was a 10 act concert that also included Santana, Heart, Aerosmith, Foreigner and Ted Nugent. Besides being a member of the above groups, over the years he's recorded and performed as a musician/vocalist with Sha Na Na, Rare Earth, The Spencer Davis Group, 3 Dog Night, Otis Day & The Knights, Danny & The Juniors, The Coasters, Blues Image, Mike Bloomfield, Graham Central Station, The Shirelles, Fabian, and The Platters. He has also been a special guest star on many television shows, including The Tracey Ullman Show (twice), American Bandstand, and Merv Griffin. While living in Los Angeles, he scored and performed the music for a number of movies, and sang the lead and played sax on two songs in "Sweet Bird Of Youth", starring Elizabeth Taylor. He comes from a musical family, with some of his relatives being: Jerry Marcellino (writer and producer for Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Bobby Darin, The Jackson 5), Jocko Marcellino (leader of Sha Na Na), Vince Guaraldi, Sonny Bono, Muzzy Marcellino (who whistled the hit soundtracks for "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" and "The High And The Mighty", the theme for “Lassie” and was bandleader for "The Art Linkletter Show"), and Gene Marcellino (former bass player for Gary Lewis and The Playboys). He is also the author of highly acclaimed books which can be seen at www.DennisMarcellino.com.
